Oregano is an amazing tasting spice for many yummy dishes. I love cooking with Oregano.
However, Oregano can also be used in so many other ways, including as an essential oil.
So, what would you use Oregano for besides cooking? -Helps protect your health and boosts the immune system
-Aids in getting rid of germs
-Helps with soothing sore throats when coughing
-Great for sanitizing the home
-Helps repel insects
I have used Oregano in blends that I have made in the following ways:
-Made hand sanitzers
-Made topical roll-ons to put on the throat and chest when not feeling well or coughing
-Made house cleaning products
-Used as aromatherapy when having difficulty breathing
**Oregano oil is very strong, which can cause irritation, so it must be diluted well with a carrier oil.
Here is one of my hand-sanitizer recipes Per 1oz of Aloe Vera:
3 drops Oregano
3 drops Thyme
3 drops Rosemary
*Because these oils are highly concentrated and potent, some people may need less drops to not get skin irritation.
** If you tend to have sensitive skin, I suggest start with 2 of each and test and if no irritation occurs then add one more of each.
*** If you experience some skin irritation, just add more aloe Vera to dilute it.
If you prefer to purchase over making your own, I currently have 2oz bottles for sale. I have other recipes as well using different oils to have different scents. 2oz bottle: $2.50
